Legal Agreements

A Legal Agreement is a written document that will identify the parties' roles and responsibilities under the agreement. Examples of Legal Agreements include Contracts, Divorce Agreements, Last Will and Testament, Power of Attorney.

Jurats & Affidavits

A Jurat is a notarial certificate used when an individual is signing and swearing (or affirming) that certain writen statements are true.

An Affidavit is a sworn statement a person makes before a notary asserting that certain facts are true to the best of that person's knowledge.

Trust

A Trust is an entity which owns assets or the benefit of a third person (beneficiary). There are many kinds of legal trust such as irrevocable trust, revocable trust and living trust. Some Trust documents will require witnesses depending on state law.

Deeds

A Deed is a legal document that transfers a title to a new holder of a property. The use of a deed to transfer title must be filed in the public record by an entity such as an assessor's office in order to make the document binding in the court of law. The deed is the vehicle for transferring a title but not the title itself. The signing of a deed must be notarized and may require witnesses depending on state laws.
